Pakistan, which has played a key role in mediating talks between the US and Iran, said it hopes the Hormuz deal will pave the way for the resumption of talks under the memorandum of understanding signed by both countries in June.

“We hope that the agreement on the strait will pave the way for continuing dialogue, particularly the resumption of technical level talks between Iran and the United States,” foreign ministry spokesman Tahir Andrabi said at a press briefing today.
